Renee
Thompson has been the City Secretary of Lufkin, Texas since June 28,
2004. Renee has been employed by the City of Lufkin since 1977.
Renee is a graduate from the Certified Public Managers Program
through the William P. Hobby Center for Public Service and a member
of the Texas Municipal Clerks Association, Pineywoods Municipal
Clerks Association, International Institute of Municipal Clerks and
Leadership Lufkin alumni. Renee is married and has three grown sons.
The City Secretary's office records, certifies, preserves, manages
and makes accessible sufficient information to ensure continuity in
government and the documented accountability of City of Lufkin
policies, functions, and transactions in order to protect both the
legal and financial rights of the citizens of the City. The City
Secretary's office also provides information to the public and helps
the public locate government information maintained by and for the
City in accordance with requirements established by law and by City
Charter.
